If can be lived for self, and others – and for the larger community/society, that would be the most satisfying for me. Thus, want to be Inspiration to live.
Am I just for myself or if I can do anything for the earth ? This gives me motivation to work, to think, to be in society, and to live.
How can I contribute to society, and a broader to humanity, and to other fellows then. How can it be ?
I was 13 years young, I first embarked on community service following my father, and Jas Bahadur Gurung, a great social person and humanist, of my hometown.
My duty during the off school hours was to queue in a small water pool, collect water in turn with friends and villagers in the gallon. That gallon would be later carried to home by father or mother, and it was about 7-8 minutes uphill walk. In 1991, our village received drinking water project through initiation of Jas Bahadur Gurung, above mentioned socialist, and humanist icon of the village.
I worked as a record keeper of all the mercenary and other works, and along with I contributed volunteer labor of 17 days digging pipelines, carrying cement, sands, collecting stones, and others.
Later, I with my friends, and seniors established JARANG JAGARAN, a non-for profit organization. With the help of our American friend John Chapman and his colleagues, we built school building of 5 rooms for Brahma Charini Lower Secondary School, where I taught for a year and half. With the help of our Italian friends Lorenzo Nava and friends, we started soccer ground in the village. This was the milestone move for the soccer revolution in the villages of north Gorkha. Now, every villages has their own soccer field, competitions, and creating opportunities to young kids. A very good news come in 2019 that Deepesh Gurung started to play from Sankata – A Division Club – club’s U-98 team.
My family recently donated our plot of land to the school to build new building destroyed after earthquake. We are inspired to be in service of our human fellow around us.
Inspire others. Serve selfishly to others. and Be part of community/society is my tagline.

Currently, I am engaged in a social business project which just germinated, namely SwaaGamya – Happiness is attainable.
